6. Working with Drafts

Is your article not quite ready for public consumption? Or do you need to make edits to an already live article without disrupting the live version? Draft pages can help you out.

MindTouch provides the abilty to work on live content, or alternatively draft content.

What is a draft?

A draft is similar to a hidden revision of a page, allowing authors to stage content before making it available to end-users. The draft can be edited by multiple users at one time, and then published as the "Live" version of the page when ready. Pro Members will see placeholders for drafts until they are published. Take note of the visual identifiers at the top of your article specifying a "Live" versus "Draft" article.

Who can publish drafts?

Any Pro Member with the Author, Editor, or Admin role. Likewise, these users can perform a live edit of the page as well.

Can I restrict specific users to only create Drafts?

Absolutely. Any Pro Member with the "Draft Contributor" role can create and edit drafts of pages, though cannot edit live.

How can I review all outstanding Drafts?

Simply navigate to Site Options > Dashboard, and click on the Draft Manager. In Draft manager, use the filters to view specific drafts by location, article type, or custom classification. From the drafts list, click on the title of any draft you want to review, publish or edit.
