3. Formatting Your Article

The MindTouch Editor make it is easy to add styles and formatting options to your content.

Smart Content Editor

The MindTouch editor is a familiar WYSIWYG interface that is robust and easy to use. The editor allows authors who may be unfamiliar with topic-based authoring to easily build content while still providing the robust strength of an XML publishing tool required by content strategists.

The editor is revealed when you create a new page OR edit a page

Let's look at some of the most common ways to make authoring easy:

Creating Links

To create a link, simply add some text to your page, and highlight that text. From there, click on the link button within our editor:

This will then provide a link dialog allowing you to search for articles or browse a hierarchy. Either way, you get the choice of selecting the appropriate article to link to:

Working with styles

The styles drop-down menu allows authors to add some variance to their standard paragraph text:

Most common used styles:

  • <pre> Format: used to document programming language code; commonly referred to as the Code Syntax Highlighter (example below).

  • Blockquote: similar to quotations in magazines, we recommend using this for pointing out reminders and pro-tips about your product (example below).
