Kareo Platform Release Notes April 23, 2020

Kareo continues to enhance the customer experience by releasing new features, making enhancements, squashing bugs, and delivering fresh documentation. Here's an update of the recent product improvements we've made with the Kareo Platform so you can easily stay up to date on what's new!

Message Center Enhancement

The new Message Center allows users within a practice to communicate with each other and with patients. With so many different types of messages coming through, use the new subfolders to break up your task. In addition, create templates and patient groups to send bulk email.

  1. Click the envelope icon in right of the top navigation bar. The messaging summary window opens.
  2. Click See All Messages. The Message Center opens.
  3. Click on a tab to see messages in your Inbox:
    • Staff: Interoffice messages and reports
    • Patient Portal: Secure messages sent through the patient portal
    • Patient Replies: Messages sent from the patient responding to emails and text
    • Other: New Appointment request, messages from Kareo Support, announcements, and task follow-ups
  4. Click on a tab to create, view, edit, or delete Message Templates and Patient Groups.

General Improvements

  • The patient's Appointments tab is now separated into Upcoming Appointments and Past Appointments.
  • Users now has the option to search for and add an insurance company in the Create Patient workflow.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where appointments scheduled between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am were not displaying on the Dashboard
  • Fixed an issue where the patient search showed results that included inactive and deleted patients
  • Fixed an issue where a self-pay case was not being created when self-pay was selected as the patient's billing payment method
