Kareo Platform Release Notes May 21, 2020

Kareo continues to enhance the customer experience by releasing new features, making enhancements, squashing bugs, and delivering fresh documentation. Here's an update of the recent product improvements we've made with the Kareo Platform so you can easily stay up to date on what's new!

Enrollment Dashboard Enhancements

The Enrollment Dashboard loads faster and finding an insurance company easier with new feature enhancements.

  1. Hover over the User icon and click on Practice Settings. The Practice Settings page opens.
  2. Click Insurance. The Enrollment Dashboard opens.
  3. Enhanced features:
    1. Enroll: Click to enroll for available electronic services with one or more insurance companies.
    2. Draft Enrollment: Click to continue a previously saved but unfinished enrollment request.
    3. Status: Filter insurance companies by a specific enrollment status (e.g., Not Available, Enrollment Required, Request Received) and relevant type (e.g., All, Claims, Eligibility, ERA).
      • Updated enrollment statuses:
        • Approved: Claims and eligibility requests can be sent immediately. 
        • Action Required: The practice needs to take additional action(s). Check emails for further instructions.
        • ERA Received: The payer approved enrollment and ERAs were received in Kareo.
        • Pending First ERA: The payer approved enrollment and Kareo is pending receipt of the first ERA file.
        • Expired: The practice has not taken action to complete the enrollment and 45 days has passed.
    4. Clear: Click to clear the selected filters.
    5. Search: When entering all or part of an insurance company name or payer ID, the option to show all results is now available.
    6. Track Enrollments: Click the arrow to expand or collapse additional details.
    7. Pagination: Each page displays 15 insurance companies. Use the arrows to navigate forward or back.

Telemedicine Appointment Icon

Telemedicine appointments are easily identified with a new video icon on the Dashboard and Appointment Card. Providers and office staff can quickly determine which appointment is a telemedicine visit.

On the Dashboard, the video icon display next to the appointment details.

On the Appointment Card, the video icon is displayed next to the service location.

General Improvements

  • Patients with recurring appointments will receive appointment reminders based on the provider's settings in Patient Communication.
  • Appointments will now display a warning if the associated service location is deleted. Users can create a new service location or link the appointment to an existing service location.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to select where patient alerts will display
  • Fixed an issue where appointment reminders were sent with the incorrect appointment time
  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to view service locations on the Dashboard
