Kareo Marketing Release Notes September 21, 2017

What's being released?
This month, Kareo released improvements around notifications, time zone display, public testimonial collection, more specific display of provider's titles, and simplified text messages.

Message Notifications for Online Appointment Requests

To improve communication between the practice and patient, Kareo will display message notifications to alert offices of online appointment requests. A Tentative Appointment notification and count will still appear on the Outstanding Items section of your agenda. But the new message notification creates greater visibility and will help ensure you don't miss a request if you're not in the habit of checking your Tentative Appointments notifications. 

Message notifications will be sent to Office Staff users only. Once you receive a message notification, click through to see the appointment request details.

If your online appointment request is turned off, you can Enable and Setup Online Appointment Booking.

Time Zone Display on Appointment Reminders

Kareo has adjusted our appointment reminders to include the time zone of the provider, as providers may be seeing patients that don't reside in their local time zone. The provider's time zone will display on both email and text reminders.

Shorter Text Messages

Kareo has reduced the length and character count on text messages we send to patients to remind them of appointments. First, introduction texts to patients will come through as one text message blurb instead of two. Second, appointment reminder texts are rewritten to be brief, clear and concise.

New Appointment Reminder

"Ben, you have an appointment with George Allen, MD on 9/23 at 1:30 PM PDT. Our address is: 3333 Michelson Dr #200, Irvine, CA 92612. To confirm, reply 2, or call (888) 888-8888. Reply OPTOUT to opt out of appt reminder texts.” 

 

Remove "Dr." from Appointment Reminder Success Page

Kareo understands that not all providers are doctors, and the standard use of Dr. could cause confusion for patients. Customization of provider titles on the Appointment Confirmed page gives greater flexibility. 

The Appointment Confirmed page will now display the full name and credentials of the provider. This information will be pulled from the basic information entered on your provider profile demographics. Learn to Add or Edit your Provider Demographics.

Public Testimonial Section Now a Required Survey Field

Frequently, patients will fill out surveys without adding a testimonial.  This means a great 5 star review can't be showcased on the provider profile if it lacks a written testimonial. By making the testimonial section required, we collect more feedback for providers, and eliminate the frustration of 5 star reviews that cannot be published since no testimony was written.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where users could not select a Provider from the drop-down field in the desktop application Message Center.
  • Fixed an issue where the provider was not able to successfully save a new custom sections to their public profile.
