Billing Release Notes April 26, 2018

Kareo continues to enhance the customer experience by releasing new features, making enhancements, squashing bugs, and delivering fresh documentation. Here's an update of the recent product improvements we've made with Kareo Billing, so you can easily stay up to date on what's new!

Background Printing

The new background printing feature allows users to control the option to print CMS 1500 claims by default with a black and white background.

By default, background printing will not be enabled. A system administrator will need to change the default setting per practice as needed.

To change the default settings:

  1. Click Settings > Options > Encounter Options. The Edit Encounter Options window opens.
  2. Select Print with claim background in the Default Background Printing drop-down.
  3. Click Save.

To enable or disable background printing on demand:

  1. Click Encounters > Print Paper Claims.
  2. The practice's default setting in Encounter Options will determine if "Print with background" is selected.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the billing questions phone number and pay by phone fields in the Patient Statement Options would reset to blank
  • Fixed an issue where an error occurred when downloading a TAF from the Enrollments Wizard
  • Fixed an issue where kFax documents were not populating in the account
  • Fixed an issue where posting an ERA would display an "incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FROM'" error
