Clinical (EHR) Release Notes November 21, 2019

In November 2019, your Kareo Clinical account will be upgraded to the latest version.

Build-Your-Own Flowsheets

Kareo's Build-Your-Own Flowsheets allow providers to review a combination of pertinent patient vitals and lab results within an easily viewable screen. System admins and providers have the flexibility to create their own flowsheets with the type of data and layout that makes sense for their practice.

Create Flowsheet

  1. Hover over the User icon and click on Practice Settings. The Practice Settings page opens.
  2. Click Clinical on the left menu, then click Flowsheets. The Flowsheets page opens.
  3. Click Create. The Create Flowsheet pop-up window opens.
  4. Build the flowsheet:
    1. Enter a Name.
    2. On the right, select Available Categories to view corresponding items.
    3. To add items, select an item on the right and click the left arrow.
    4. To remove items, select an item on the left and click the right arrow.
    5. To reorder items, select the item on the left and click the up or down arrow.
  5. Click Save when finished. The flowsheet is saved under Custom Flowsheets.

View Flowsheet

The newly built flowsheet can be viewed in the patient's chart or from a note.

Templates: Expanded Alpha Picker

The "alpha" picker free text window has been expanded in the note view. This will allow users to document without losing view of the content. Clinical_Note_TemplateAlphaPicker.png

2019 MIPS HIE Exclusion

In October, CMS released new information redefining the Health Information Exchange Support: Electronic Referral Loops by Receiving and Incorporating Health Information measure. All MIPS eligible clinicians using Kareo Clinical may take an exclusion for this measure for the 2019 reporting year while Kareo works on certifying for this measure.

  1. Hover over the Clinical icon and click on Medicare Promoting Interoperability (MIPS). The Medicare Promoting Interoperability (MIPS) page opens.
  2. Select a provider to open their dashboard.
  3. Click Claim Exclusions. The Claim Exclusions pop-up window opens.
  4. Click on the HIE tab to view additional details.
  5. Click to select the exclusion.
