Set Message Notifications

Kareo provides a messaging system that enables users within a practice to easily and securely send messages to one another, and to receive and reply to Patient Portal messages. If desired, you can choose to be notified via email every time you are messaged.

Set Message Notifications

You can access messages from the top right of every window except when working within a Note.

The notification options under Message Settings are applied practice wide. Any changes made to Message Settings extend to all users in your practice. 

  1. Click the envelope icon. The messaging summary window opens.
  2. Click See All Messages. The Messages page opens.
  3. Click Messages Settings. The Messages Settings pop-up window opens.

  1. Select from the following options in the Messages Settings pop-up window:
    • Patient Portal: Click to select this option if you want messages from the Patient Portal to appear in your Inbox. Requires Kareo Clinical subscription.
    • Notifications: Click to select this option if you want to receive email alerts every time someone messages you.
  2. Click Save.
