Invite or Reinvite Patient to Patient Portal

The Patient Portal helps comply with MIPS and Medicaid Promoting Interoperability for participating providers.

Invite the patient to create a Patient Portal account to provide access to their problems, allergies, medications, eLab results, shared treatment plans, and vital signs. They can also manage their account, message their providers, and authorize access for a guest to view their account. Once the patient is activated, providers can securely send and receive messages to patients.

Note:

  • The email address must be a unique email and not associated to another patient's record or practice using Tebra.
  • To change the patient's email address associated to their active account, the practice must contact Customer Care.

Access Patient Portal

  1. Enter the first 2–3 letters of the patient's name or date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy) in the top navigation bar search box.
  2. Click to select the patient from the auto-populated results. The patient's Facesheet page opens.
  3. Click Demographics. The Demographics page opens.
  4. Click the Patient Portal tab. The Patient Portal page opens.

Invite Patient

Send the patient an email invitation to the activate their Patient Portal account.

  • Click to select "Activate Account".
    • If the Email field is empty, add the patient's email address to the Profile tab. Then, return to the Patient Portal tab to proceed.
      Note: Email addresses entered in the Email field on the Patient Portal tab will not be saved in the patient's profile.
  • Click Invite to send the invitation to the email on file. The Patient Portal status updates.

Reinvite Patient

Send the invitation again if the patient has not activated their account yet.

  1. Click to select "Reinvite".
    • If the Email field is empty, add the patient's email address to the Profile tab. Then, return to the Patient Portal tab to proceed.
      Note: Email addresses entered in the Email field on the Patient Portal tab will not be saved in the patient's profile.
    • If the patient would like to be invited again using a different email address then the one on file, enter the email address in the Email field.

  2. Click Reinvite to send the invitation. The Patient Portal status updates.

Patient Portal Status

Monitor the status of the Patient Portal invitation, activation, or log in.

  1. Opted out:
    • When "Patient does not want to receive access to health information" is selected, it indicates the patient has opted out of the Patient Portal.
  2. Activated on:
    • A Pending status indicates the invitation email is in the queue to be sent from Clinical.
    • A date indicates when the invitation was sent.
  3. Patient Registered on:
    • A Pending status indicates the patient has not yet completed the activation.
    • A date indicates when the patient completed the Patient Portal activation.
  4. Last Log in on:
    • A date indicates the last time the patient accessed Patient Portal.
    • A Never status indicates the patient has not logged into the Patient Portal.
  5. Last reinvited on:
    • A date indicates the last time the patient has been reinvited to the Patient Portal. If the patient has been reinivited multiple times, the most recent date displays.
    • A Never status indicates the patient never been reinvited.
