Add, Edit, or Delete Patient Payment Card

Securely save and manage patient payment card information in Kareo to easily record payments made for copays and outstanding account balances. If you have activated the Patient Payments feature on your account, you can process credit card payments through Kareo using Stripe.

Navigate to the Patient's Account Tab

From the Main Navigation Bar

  1. Enter the first 2–3 letters of the patient's name in the top navigation bar search box.
  2. Click to select the patient from the auto-populated results. The patient's chart Demographics opens.
  3. Click Account on the left menu. The patient's account information opens.
  4. Click the Payment Cards tab. The patient's payment cards display.
 

Add a New Payment Card

  1. Click on the Payment Cards tab. A summary of current saved payment cards displays.
  2. Click +Add New Payment Card. The Add New Payment Card window opens.
  3. Enter the card information:
  • Name on the card
  • 16-digit card number (without dashes)
  • Expiration month and year
  • 3-digit CVV code on back of card
  1. Click Save when finished. The card summary displays on the Payment Cards tab.

 

 

Edit or Delete a Payment Card

  1. Click on the Payment Cards tab. A summary of current saved payment cards displays.
  2. Click Edit on the right of the card you wish to edit or delete. The Edit Payment Card window opens.
  3. To delete the payment card from the patient's billing profile, click Delete in the lower right of the window.
  4. To edit the card information, make changes to the name and expiration date, as necessary. 
    Note: The payment card number cannot be edited. To correct an error in a card number, delete the existing card and re-add it with the new number.
  5. Click Save when all edits have been made. The card summary displays on the Payment Cards tab.
