Add Secondary or Tertiary Insurance Policy

Secondary and tertiary insurance policies can be added to an insurance case through the Account tab in the patient's record.

Navigate to the Patient Account Tab

  1. Enter the first 2–3 letters of the patient's name or date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy) in the top navigation bar search box.
  2. Click to select the patient from the auto-populated results. The patient's record opens to the Face Sheet.
  3. Click Account in the left menu. The Account page opens.


Add Secondary or Tertiary Insurance Policy

  1. Click the Insurance tab at the top of the window.
  2. Click Edit on the right of the insurance policy name. The Edit Insurance Case window opens.


  1. Click + Add Another Policy below Policy #1 to add a secondary insurance. Policy #2: New Insurance opens.
  2. Enter information for the secondary insurance policy as described in Add Insurance Policy Information.
  3. Click Save Policy


  1. The new policy displays under Policy #1.
  2. To add a tertiary policy, click + Add Another Policy.
  3. When multiple policies are added to an insurance case, click the up and down arrows to change the policy billing order, if necessary.
  4. Click Save & Finish when all policies have been added. The Edit Insurance Case window closes and the new policy is saved under the insurance case.
