Kareo Medical Billing Release Notes February 2016

In February, your Kareo Medical Billing account was updated to include the new Billing Tasks feature that will simplify the way you work with your Kareo Medical Billing team. 

Billing Tasks help you more effectively and efficiently manage any practice rework that needs to be completed. You can now easily view and complete tasks created by your KMB team on one page and electronically communicate directly with your team for help or questions on a specific task.

Task Types
Your new Billing Tasks are grouped into 5 types: Codes, Documents, Encounters, Patients, and Practice. Selecting a task type will display a list view with the Priority, Due Date, Encounter #, Task Description, Patient Name, Provider, and Assigned To fields. Simply click on a task to view additional information, ask the Kareo team for assistance, or to complete the task.

Codes

This section contains billing tasks that are associated to coding issues. For example, an incorrect CPT code was entered on the charge ticket.

Select the task, update the information via the electronic charge ticket, and then mark the task as completed.

Documents

This section contains billing tasks that are associated to document issues. For example, the document scan was illegible and needs to be re-scanned and submitted.

Select the task, scan/submit document, and mark the task as complete.

Encounters

This section contains tasks that are associated to encounter issues. For example, an encounter that needs additional information entered in order for it to be submitted to the payer.

Select the task, enter in the necessary information in our Practice Management system, and then mark the task as complete.

Patients

This section contains tasks that are associated to patient and insurance issues. For example, missing insurance information that needs to be entered for the claim to be submitted.

Select the task, enter in the necessary information in our Practice Management system, and then mark the task as complete.

Practice

This section contains tasks that are associated to practice information. For example, missing provider information that needs to be entered for claims to be submitted.

Filters

We have implemented filters so that you can easily view and work on tasks that you would like to focus on. Sorting tasks by priority allows you to focus on high priority tasks first. You can also sort by date to view the latest tasks.

  • Filter tasks by status so that you can filter by tasks that are in progress or not started.
  • View tasks assigned to you. Additionally, you can view tasks assigned to others in your practice in case they are not available to complete their tasks.
  • View tasks associated to a provider in your practice.

Other Fixes
Bugs have been resolved for individual accounts and have been reported to those users.
