Respond to Rx/eRx Failed Message

If an e-Prescription was not successfully transmitted, the message detail window provides three responses:

  • Phone it in to the pharmacy: The name and number of the pharmacy appear in the message. Call the prescription in to the pharmacy to ensure the patient receives his or her medication. The prescription status then changes to Closed and the medication appears on the patient's Active Medications list.
  • Print a copy: The prescription can be printed and given to the patient or faxed to the pharmacy. The prescription status then changes to Closed and the medication appears on the patient's Active Medications list.
  • Discard Rx: Cancels the prescription request, removes the medication from the patient's Active Medications list, and changes the prescription status to Closed.
