eRx Failed Message

An eRx failed message notifies the provider when an ePrescription is unable to reach the pharmacy due to communication issues. Providers can choose to phone the prescription into the pharmacy, print a paper prescription, or discard the prescription to clear the failed message.

Access Failed Message

  1. Hover over the Clinical icon and click eRx Requests. The Renewal Requests tab displays.
  2. Click View. The Rx Failed page opens.
  3. Review the message to determine if the prescription should be phoned in, printed, or discarded.

Phone In Prescription

  1. By default, "Phone it in to the pharmacy" is selected and displays the pharmacy name and number. Call the prescription in to the pharmacy.
  2. Click Close when finished. A reminder message displays and the medication is documented in the patient's active medication list.

Print Prescription

  1. Click to select "Print Copy".
  2. Click Close. A PDF of the prescription opens in a new browser.
  3. Print the prescription using the web browser's functions to provide to the patient or faxed to the pharmacy. The status of the message changes to Closed and the medication is documented in the patient's active medication list.

Discard Prescription

Select discard to cancel the prescription and move the medication to the patient's discontinued medication list.

  1. Click to select "Discard Rx".
  2. Click Close. A confirmation message displays and the medication is moved to the patient's discontinued medication list.
