Create a Custom Drug

When a drug added to Active Medications, Prescription or Drug Favorites does not match a drug listed in Kareo's comprehensive drug database, a custom drug can be created.

Note: Custom drugs will not be checked against Kareo's database for potential drug-allergy interactions (DAI) and drug-drug interactions (DDI), or for outcomes reporting.

Navigate to Medications

  1. Enter the first 2-3 letters of the patient's first or last name in the top search box on the Agenda.
  2. Click to select the patient from the auto-populated results. The patient's chart  / Face Sheet opens.
  3. Click Medications in the left menu. The Active Medications page opens.

Create a Custom Drug

  4. Click Add more details to complete a prescription or add to medication.
Note: Custom drugs will not be available for e-prescribing.
