MIPS eligible clinicians must generate and transmit permissible prescriptions electronically.
At least one permissible prescription written by the MIPS eligible clinician is queried for a drug formulary and transmitted electronically using CEHRT.

Denominator: Number of prescriptions written for drugs requiring a prescription in order to be dispensed during the performance period
- Medications prescribed from a Note or from Medications.
Numerator: The number of prescriptions in the denominator generated, queried for a drug formulary, and transmitted electronically using CEHRT.
- Medications are prescribed from a Note or from Medications in the patient’s chart. See Prescribe/ePrescribe a Medication.
- Formulary query is automatically completed if the patient’s formulary plan is included in the record. See Add Drug Formulary to Patient Record.
Exclusion: Any MIPS eligible clinician who writes fewer than 100 permissible prescriptions during the performance period.
If an exclusion is claimed, the points will be redistributed evenly to the “Health Information Exchange” and the “Provider to Patient Exchange” measures.
Performance Score Weight: 10 points
