You can make a patient inactive so that the patient no longer appears when looking up patients in such tasks as Appointment Details or Encounter Details. In the Find Patient window, inactive patients will still appear but are indicated as inactive with a "No" in the Active column.
To deactivate a patient record
- Click Patients>Find Patients.
- Once you find the patient record, double-click the record to open. This opens the Edit Patient window.
- Uncheck the "Active" box located to the right of the patient's name.
