Billing Release Notes April 23, 2020

Kareo continues to enhance the customer experience by releasing new features, making enhancements, squashing bugs, and delivering fresh documentation. Here's an update of the recent product improvements we've made with Kareo Billing, so you can easily stay up to date on what's new!

Text Balance Reminders

Customers with Patient Payments enabled can send secure and actionable text balance reminders to accelerate patient collections and drive online payments.

Send Text Balance Reminder

  1. Navigate to Encounters Send Patient StatementsThe Send Patient Statements - Select Criteria window opens. 
  2. Enter the appropriate criteria to filter patients. 
  3. Click to select the Statement Delivery method "Text".
  4. Click SHOW PATIENTS and finish the Send Patient Statements wizard. The patient(s) receive the text message(s) on their mobile device within an hour. 

Patient Experienc

  1. Once the text is received, the patient taps the link provided in the message. The Make a Payment screen opens.
  2. The patient taps to select the payment amount to pay. 
    Note: The patient can tap I want to see my statement before I pay to access the Patient Portal and view their statement first.
  3. The patient enters the credit card information.
  4. The patient taps Submit Payment

Once submitted, the payment shows as an unapplied payment under the Online tab of the Find Payment window.


Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where users experienced latency and a connection timeout error message 
  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to save patient journal notes 
  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to create appointments 
  • Fixed an issue where users experienced latency approving encounters 
  • Fixed an issue where the Appointments Detail report listed the same appointment numerous times
  • Fixed an issue where Inland Faculty Medical Group ERAs received were incomplete 
  • Fixed an issue where the MBI format warning validated inactive policies
