Rebill Claims

Rebilling claims resets the status of the claims to Ready for to send claims to be submitted electronically or printed. There are four different way users can rebill claims in Kareo.

From Edit Encounter

  1. Click Encounters > Find Encounter. The Find Encounter window opens.
  2. Click the All tab.
  3. Search for and open the appropriate encounter. The Edit Encounter window opens.
  4. If necessary, make changes.
  5. Click Save & Rebill.
  6. A "Are you sure you want to rebill all of the claims related to this encounter?" prompt will appear.
    • Click Yes to save and rebill the encounter. The status of the claim will change to Ready to send claims.
    • Click No to continue editing.

From Find Claim

  1. Click Encounters > Track Claim Status. The Find Claim window opens.
  2. Search for the appropriate encounter and click on the claim to select.
  3. Click Action > Rebill. The Transaction panel opens.

  1. If necessary, enter a Note.
  2. Click Apply. The status of the claim will change to Ready to send claims.
    1. If more than one claim is associated the encounter, a "Would you like to rebill all claims associated with this Encounter?" prompt will appear.
      • Click Yes to rebill all associated claims.
      • Click No to only rebill the selected claim.
  3. Claims are now ready to be submitted electronically or printed.

From Edit Claim

  1. Click Encounters > Track Claim Status. The Find Claim window opens.
  2. Look for and double-click on the encounter that needs correcting. The Edit Claim window opens.
  3. Click Action > Rebill. The Transaction panel opens.

  1. If necessary, enter a Note.
  2. Click Apply. The status of the claim will change to Ready to send claims.
    1. If more than one claim is associated the encounter, a "Would you like to rebill all claims associated with this Encounter?" prompt will appear.
      • Click Yes to rebill all associated claims.
      • Click No to only rebill the selected claim.
  3. Claims are now ready to be submitted electronically or printed.

Bulk Rebill

  1. Click Encounters > Track Claim Status. The Find Claim window opens.
  2. Select claims:
    • Select claims one by one: Hold down the Ctrl key and click on each claim you want to include.
    • Select a range of claims: Click on the first claim in the range, then hold down the Shift key and click the last claim in the range. Those two claims and all claims in between them will be selected.
  3. Click Action > Rebill. The Transaction panel opens.

  1. If necessary, enter a Note.
  2. Click Apply. The status of the claim will change to Ready to send claims.
    1. If more than one claim is associated the encounter, a "Would you like to rebill all claims associated with this Encounter?" prompt will appear.
      • Click Yes to rebill all associated claims.
      • Click No to only rebill the selected claim.
  3. Claims are now ready to be submitted electronically or printed.
