Referring Provider NPI is invalid.  2310A.NM1*09

Rejection Details

This rejection indicates the referring provider’s NPI is invalid or not on file with the payer. Please verify that the referring provider NPI included on the claim is valid. 


Follow the instructions below to add the referring provider NPI:

  1. Click Settings > Other Lists > Find Referring Physicians. The Find Referring Physicians window opens.
  2. Look for and double-click on the referring provider that needs correcting. The Edit Referring Physician window opens.
  3. Verify that the Individual NPI number is correct, edit as necessary.
  4. Click Save.

Then, rebill and resubmit all affected claims.
