REQUIRED REFERRAL CODE FOR CHILD HEALTH CHECK-UP IS MISSING.

Rejection Details

This rejection occurs when the 2300 Loop is missing the CRC segment (EPSDT indicator). The EPSDT (Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment) referral information was expected but not found.

Resolution

Follow the instructions below to add an EPSDT Indicator:

  1. Click Encounters > Track Claim Status. The Find Claim window opens.
  2. Look for and double-click on the encounter that needs correcting. The Edit Claim window opens.
  3. Double-click on the case. The Edit Case window opens.
  4. Click on the Condition tab.
  5. Click the “EPSDT” checkbox to select.
  6. Select the appropriate status indicator from the drop-down next to “EPSDT”.
  7. Click Save all the way out.

Then, rebill and resubmit all affected claims.
