What is an NDC?
Drug products are identified and reported using a unique, three-segment number, called the National Drug Code (NDC), which serves as a universal product identifier for drugs.
Where to populate NDC numbers?
2 Areas: As a Line Note or Attach it to the Procedure Code
As a Line Note
- Edit Encounter Window > Ensure Columns “Line Note” and “Ref. Code” are available
- Select ADD under Ref. Code and enter NDC in Line Note column
*If the columns are not available, right-click procedure box and select Customize to add Line Note and/or Ref. Code
Attach it to the Procedure Code
- Settings > Codes > Find Procedures.
- Search and Open Procedure.
- Enter NDC in NDC field.
- Press Save.
