Update User Email

System administrators can update the user's login email if a temporary one was set or if the previous email is no longer valid.

 

Update a User Account

Note: Accounts created after May 2016 will see the same screen as Web User Roles.

  1. Click Settings > User Accounts. The User Account window opens.

  1. Click on the user's name. The Account Details window opens.
  2. Update the email with a valid email for the user.
    Note: Do not use a staff member's email address for providers. Enter the provider's email address or create a temporary user. 
  3. Click to select "Set new password."
  4. Enter a temporary password in Set Password and Verify Password. When the user logs in the first time, they will be prompted to change the password.
  5. If necessary, edit the user's Permissions and Practices.
    Note: By default, temporary user's were not assigned permissions. Be sure to grant permission so the user can access Kareo.
  6. Click Save Changes. The user's email address will be updated.

Update a Web User Role

  1. Click Settings > Web User Roles. The User Account window opens.

  1. Click Edit next to the user's name. The Edit User window opens.
  2. Update the email with a valid email for the user.
    Note: Do not use a staff member's email address for providers. Enter the provider's email address or a create a temporary user. 
  3. Enter a temporary password in Password and Repeat Password. When the user logs in the first time, they will be prompted to change the password.
  4. If necessary, click to select additional Roles for the user.
  5. Click Save Provider or Save User. The user's email address will be updated.
